  1. 360° Panoramic - The Dome Gymnasium

    Dome Gymnasium (originally known as the Golden Dome) was constructed in 1967 and is one of Bluefield University's most historic buildings. The Dome houses men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, and men’s wrestling. The Dome also houses athletic offices for coaches and trainers, the training room, locker rooms, a team room, and batting cages for BU's softball program. At a capacity of 800, fans envelope the gym’s courtside seating on the lower level and the balcony seating on the upper concourse. This creates an intense atmosphere making it tough to beat the Rams at home!  The Dome is a one level spherical structure that sits at the bottom of the hill on the north east side of campus.

  2. Rish Hall

    Rish Hall serves as a Residence Hall and is home to the Communications and English Departments, as well as the Academic Center for Excellence. Students engage with peer tutors as well as the friendly staff of academic success coaches. The ACE accommodates students with a wide range of educational needs and students with documented disabilities. Just outside of Rish Hall is the famous sliding hill which is the location of our honored outdoor tradition, Mud Pig Day! At the end of each school year, students fly down a greasy waterslide, splash in a murky mud pit, feast on a roasted pig barbecue, and warm up by a toasty bonfire. Rish Hall is a 4 story brick building with tall columns on the southeast and northeast facing sides. Floors 2-4 are dorm rooms while the ground floor houses academic programs.

  3. Harman Chapel

    Harman Chapel serves as Bluefield University’s place of worship and is also home to our Music and Theater departments. It’s beautifully renovated interior and recently upgraded state of the art audio visual equipment is the perfect setting for inspirational worship services and world class stage performances. Faculty and staff and students gather together weekly for an uplifting biblical message. Sunday morning worship is hosted by good friends Highlands Fellowship and is open to the campus and local community. Harman Chapel is a 3 story brick building with 4 columns on the front which faces the west. The Chapel is the most distinguishable building on campus as it has a steeple rising high above the surrounding architecture. Harman Chapel is near the center of campus on the eastern side.

  4. Lansdell Hall

    Lansdell Hall is named after Bluefield University’s first president, Dr. Rinaldo Addison Lansdell and was the first building constructed in 1922. Lansdell Hall currently serves as the central administration building on campus and is home to the History, Criminal Justice, Christian Studies, Graphic Communication, and Psychology departments. In whatever major a student chooses to study they will have the opportunity to purse an internship, and in the Criminal Justice department students are able to serve with the FBI and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, just like the TV show. Landsdell Hall is a 4 story brick building with a large front stairwell and 6 concrete pillars on the front of the building. Landsdell Hall sits at the top of the hill from the entry parking lot and is on the northeast side of the quad in the center of campus.

  5. Science Center

    Built in 1992, Bluefield University’s three-story Science Center houses all of the college’s STEM-H programs, including its traditional offerings in biology, chemistry, forensic science, information technology, math, and exercise and sports science, which enrolls more students than any other major on campus. The Donald W. Caudill School of Business is also housed here. In response to the University’s growing number of academic offerings in health sciences, a $2.7 million third-floor expansion of the building was completed in the summer of 2019 and houses the School of Nursing. The Science Center also offers two PC labs as well as a Mac lab, and an eSports Arena. The Science Center is a 3 story brick building situated just behind Landsdell Hall on the northeast side of the quad on the center of campus.

  6. Shott Hall

    Shott Hall houses the Campus Store, dining hall, and the Jack Marcom Student Center. In the dining hall, students enjoy a variety of offerings featuring a buffet, deli, grill, and a salad bar. For food enthusiasts, our chef prepares specialty dishes as you might find at a local restaurant. In the Jack Marcom Student Center, students love to play foosball, enjoy Starbucks coffee brewed by the Chicory Coffee Company, or grab a meal on the go. The mini-stage is set for fun gatherings like karaoke, poetry and story slams, and live music. Shott Hall is also home to the Campus Store, a great place to stock up on RAMs gear. Shott Hall is a one level, sprawling brick building that is at the northwest side of campus in the middle of the quad.

  7. East River hall

    East River Hall (built in 2009) is Bluefield University’s newest residence hall featuring suite style rooms and trendy new furnishings. Residents of East River Hall (and other residence halls around campus) enjoy scenic mountain views, relaxing in our hammock communities in the spring, and cozying up to the fire pits on chilly fall nights. In our close knit community, you will have countless opportunities to collaborate on classroom projects, discuss world issues, and make social connections with fellow Rams. East River Hall is a 3 story brick building with a 4 column entry way that faces southeast. It is located just south of Cruise hall on the southwest side of campus.

  8. Easley Library

    Easley Library is centrally located and provides comfortable seating and a quiet atmosphere for study, leisure reading, and reflection. Easley also has several areas for private study and offers multimedia labs equipped with Smartboards and a green screen where students can delve into their research. Library staff are friendly and always willing to help! Whether it's locating a specific book, helping you identify resources, or assisting you with development of a research plan, library staff are knowledgeable professionals who know the world of analog and digital information. Among the library’s best features are the great views of the Quad and beautiful mountain views just beyond campus. Easley Library is situated at the center of campus on the southeast side of the quad. It is a 3 story building with entrances on the quad and also near the lower level parking lot.

  9. Cox Visual Arts Center

    The Donald and Maria Cox Visual Arts Center features two main studios that provide students with ample space to explore the traditional arts of drawing, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. The large windows allow excellent natural light that illuminates each workspace and inspires creativity. Our esteemed faculty members teach students how to develop a professional art portfolio and to market their talents to potential clients. The Cox Visual Arts Center is a 2 story brick building with a unique tiered roofline. The Cox Visual Arts Center is located on the west side of campus between the tennis courts and East River Hall.

  10. Alumni Hall

    For upper class male students seeking a private room, Alumni Hall, is the perfect option. As a male only residence hall with external room access this hall allows students to come and go from class, practice, and campus events with ease. Located in between the Dome and married housing, Alumni Hall allows more privacy than our traditional dormatories. Alumni Hall is on the northeast side of campus. It is a 3 story brick building with a flat roof and doors that open to the outside. Both sides of the building have long exterior walkways with metal railings.

  11. Herb Simms Wellness Center

    Acquired by the University in the summer of 2020, the Herb Sims Wellness Center hosts athletic events, special events sponsored by the Department of Athletics, and events for Bluefield University students and the community. The Center’s fitness area, open to all Bluefield University students and the campus community, is one of the largest and most well equipped in our conference. The Wellness Center is located directly to the north of main campus. It can be accessed via Stadium Drive which connects main campus to the athletic facilities. It consists of 2 brick buildings. One building is a large gymnasium and the other building is a one level fitness facility.

  12. Cruise Hall

    One of the original constructions of the university, Cruise Hall, named after the George M. Cruise foundation, houses many of Bluefield University's male students. Cruise Hall also serves as the headquarters of our Campus Safety office, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Located next to the quad, Cruise is perfectly positioned in the heart of campus and  student activities! Cruise Hall is a 3 story brick building that sits on the west side of central campus just off the quad. It has 6, 2 story columns on it’s front entrance.

  13. Bluestone Commons

    Constructed in 2014, Bluestone Commons offers state-of-the-art apartment living for Bluefield's upper classmen. Housing men and women in separate buildings, our apartments allow students to have privacy and independence, while still living on campus. Amenities of our apartments include a full kitchen, washer/dryer, two single bedrooms, a double bedroom, and a shared living space, and two full bathrooms. Bluestone Commons consists of 2, separate 3 story buildings that have open, exterior walkways and exterior entrances that allow residents to access their suites. Bluestone Commons sits on the far west side of campus near the Tennis Courts.

  14. Alumni Advancement

    Located across College Avenue, the Advancement house serves as the hub for event planning and building alumni relations. With their degree in hand, opportunities for alumni to stay connected and support Bluefield University are endless. Alums are welcomed and encouraged to provide input, support, volunteer, and more, to their alma mater! Alumni Advancement is a 3 story brick house situated on the southeast side of campus. It faces Harman Chapel.

  15. 360° Panoramic - Bowen Field

    The Rams compete at Bowen Field, which is also the home of the Appalachian League’s Bluefield Ridge Runners . It is located in the Bluefield City Park, which overlaps the West Virginia-Virginia state line and also features the Bluefield City Courts, and Mitchell Stadium, as well as a picnic area, basketball courts, a playground and over ten miles of hiking trails. While Mitchell Stadium is located in West Virginia, Bowen Field sits in Virginia. The field has received additional upgrades through the years, with more than $3 million going into the facility since 1989. A recent addition includes a batting facility with indoor cages and weight lifting equipment. Bowen Field is located to the north west from central campus. It is a large baseball facility with stadium seating behind home plate. There are multiple building surrounding the field that serve as training facilities.

  18. 360° Panoramic - Mitchell Stadium

    Mitchell Stadium is the proud home of Rams Football. Located in the City Park Complex behind the Bluefield University campus, Mitchell Stadium provides football fans a great experience with a seating capacity of over 10,000. Bluefield University returned its football program to the gridiron in 2012 for its first varsity season in 71 years, bringing collegiate football back to the Bluefield area. Mitchell also serves as the home football field for both Graham High School and Bluefield High School, a huge local rivalry consistently featured in the Great American Rivalry Series. Mitchell Stadium also serves as a popular site for outdoor concerts that the campus and local community can enjoy.

    Mitchell Stadium is located on the north side of campus between Bowen field and the wellness center.

  21. 360° Panoramic - Quad

    Located at the heart of campus is the lush lawn space known as the Quad. Thoroughly groomed with warm botanical flower beds and native mountain shrubbery, this is the prime place to relax in the cool mountain breeze. Whether your blanket and books are spread in the shade of our sky-touching spruces, or your hammock is strung between them, you’re sure to be in the ultimate place of rest and leisure. Recently voted one of the most beautiful Christian university campuses, it is no wonder the Quad has been host to many outdoor concerts, cookouts, festivals, graduation ceremonies, and even used by professors for out-of-the classroom learning experiences.

  22. Tennis Courts

    Located between East River Hall and Bluestone Commons, the tennis courts allow tennis players, hobbyists, and all those interested, to hone their skills on the court. Six courts in total are available for sport enthusiasts to enjoy themselves and take in the fresh mountain air!
